The Perfect Host

There are nine of us including five of Dad’s closest friends, a niece, and two of his children.  It’s a simple meal, takeout pizza with a homemade salad out in the back yard.

Dad makes sure everyone has a seat and a drink.  His guests must each be served, seated and comfortable before he fills his own plate.  Everyone is offered seconds before he clears away the plates. As he takes the dessert tray around to each guest he offers them more to drink.

Dad had a wonderful time and made his guests very comfortable. He couldn’t tell you what he was eating, what town or state he was in or who he had dinner with.  But he was the perfect host.

Isn’t the mind fascinating?
