2011 Walk to End Alzheimers

November 14, 2011

I recently attended the Alzheimer’s Association 2011 Walk to End Alzheimer’s.  (I would have wrote about it sooner but time flies around here!)

Dad and I got there early to get registered. We picked up our colorful 18″ tall flower windmills.  We got a purple one to denote having lost someone to Alzheimer’s, a blue one for someone who has Alzheimer’s, and a yellow one for a caregiver.  Dad enjoyed carrying all of them and watching them spin.

Before the walk we had time to visit each of the tables to collect information about various supports available in our community.  Of course, we also picked up candy, pens and water bottles.

It was a beautiful day in a beautiful park.  A lovely place for a 3 mile walk.  All to support a cause that is very near to my heart.

Thanks to those who supported our walk and convinced me to find time to attend!
